About Us

Richard Brown & Co is a partnership between two Peterborough solicitors, Richard Brown and Oliver Barrett. We have two full-time paralegals/secretaries, Gemma Howson and Claire Mazzarella and one part-time secretary Lorraine Brown.

The partner with particular responsibility for matrimonial work is Richard Brown.

Richard Brown conducted his first divorce case in 1983 moving to Peterborough in 1993 and setting up Richard Brown & Co in 2000. Richard lives in Peterbrough and is married with four children under 10 who go to school locally.

Oliver Barrett was born and raised in Peterborough, lives locally and was admitted as a solicitor in 1997. He became a partner at Richard Brown & Co in 2003.

Gemma Howson has extensive experience as a matrimonial and family secretary/paralegal. Once again she is Peterborough born and bred and lives within a mile of our office.

Claire Mazzarella has worked as a legal secretary/paralegal for since the early 1990's and has extensive experience in this field. She too lives in central Peterborough and is a mother of three.

Lorraine Brown assists the firm on a part-time basis with a secretarial, administrative and book-keeping role. Lorraine originally hails from London but now lives in Peterborough with her three children.
